FOR THE LOVE OF POETRY For years we have felt that poetry should comprise of stanzas made up of words and phrases that rhyme. However this class had given us a greater insight into the formation of poems. We established that poems are used to express ideas and feelings , as well as tell of a story. At the end of the class we were all more confident to create beautiful poetic pieces riddled with carefully formed stanzas and poetic flow. The lecturer had us recreate a cinquain as a class and each of us were given the responsibility to draft our own haiku. But before we did this we had to find out what a cinquain was, as this was a new word in our mental word collection. This was a stanza made up of five lines. Thus we were able to formulate a short cinquain that met the approval of the class. Unaware that poem had varieties, we were introduced to 4 types of poems, which were; ballads. narrative poems, limericks and the haiku. But of interest to us was this newly...
Excellently done!! I really love the various sounds used. I felt like I was present at the scene. Your background music was appropiate and assisted with setting the mood for this piece. Wow! This was very impressive.

Wow! What a vivid description! I could envision the mood, tone, ambiance and the different emotions that this writer painted. It almost seemed like I had witnessed this accident. The variety in your inflections and sounds added panache to it.

Sniff sniff....that's me recovering from my pouring tears...this was emotional because of the vivid picture created which is of course the aim of descriptive writing...great job!
ReplyDeleteTalking about vicarious experiences. Very detailed and great use of onomatopoeia. Your intonation made the scene come to life and it was complemented perfectly with the sound effects. The picture stayed in my mind as you read along. Very effective! Excellent job once more!

ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job Ron. Yes, I was able to create mental images of this horrific accident. I was even able to smell the gasoline streaming out of the gas tank. As you read, my eyes were shut and I listened to every description while my mind decoded through the use of images.
